2 strong leads make this a cut above.

I'm not one for shmaltzy romantic comedies but when they are good they can be fantastic (Jerry Maguire!). Wimbledon is some steps below that for sure and does have the contrivances you expect in the genre to bring the two together, break them apart and then bring them together again. But what elevates it is the casting of two very likable leads and these two make it a very enjoyable, light and amiable affair.
