5 out of 10 RETRO COOL
A member from Dublin, 01 Mar 2008
For those of you who are fans of Hitchcock like myself, this is a great sort of homage to the master and of course with a more contemporary subject matter. The acting, pace, dialogue and the look of the whole film comes together brilliantly. Watch out for the disturbing and very realistic snuff movies on the special features. This will sure make into my dvd collection.

2 out of 10 Decent enough bit of fluff
Hazel from Dublin, 21 Aug 2008
Starts off in fairly formulaic fashion - couple stranded are forced to stay in a dingy motel - and when the 'mayhem' ensues has the protagonists trying all manner of ways to escape their seemingly inevitable fate. This was OK, just as good as any in the genre but the scares weren't enough to make this a truly terrifying thriller.

3 out of 10 Not the worst... not the best...
Fergal from Dublin, 15 Aug 2008
A bit standard regarding the arguing couple thing and a bit silly regarding... just run out the door and down the road instead of clambering about for 90 mins BUT not the worst triller/horror. At least it wasn't all gore and had a bit on tension.

3 out of 10 Promising
Mark from Dublin, 29 Dec 2009
It starts off really well and the idea is great which sets it up for a gripping edge of the seat ride then they ran out of money and had to come to the end in the allotted time so it was a bit of a let down at the end.

3.5 out of 10 Vacancy
Berenice from Meath, 30 Jul 2008
As has been mentioned before, filmed in an 'old' Hollywood horror style. You know when the scary bits are coming (and the music is great in that regard) but you still jump. Not a bad little movie.

What's it about....
When David (Luke Wilson) and Amy Fox's (Kate Beckinsale) car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, they are forced to spend the night at the only motel around, with only the TV to entertain them... until they discover that the low-budget slasher movies they're watching were all filmed in the very room they're sitting in. With hidden cameras now aimed at them... trapping them in rooms, crawlspaces, underground tunnels... and filming their every move, David and Amy must struggle...
