United they stood

This is probably the most 'realistic' movie I have ever seen. It's amazing. The real time, fly on the wall filming style employed by director Paul Greengrass sucks the viewer in totally, you are there in the control room, you are there in the plane. Heartbreaking yet fantastic. Watch the extra features too, the Director gives some real insights into his motivations for making the movie. Several actors went to meet the families of characters they played and there are some really poignant scenes.

United 93

An unbelievably tense movie considering we all know what happens in the end. The docu-drama style (a la Bloody Sunday) using hand held cameras and the in-your-face close-ups of the characters really works and adds to the sense of claustrophobia the passengers must have felt. The reactions of the controllers and military on the ground to the day's events adds perspective and illustrates the mass confusion in the chain of command.
A really excellent film, tastefully and sympathetically made.

Engrossing

Fairly engrossing film recreate a possible account of what took place on the doomed 9/11 plane that crashed before reaching it's target. The cast of relative unknowns serves well in creating a documentary-like feel to the movie and the story is presented straight up without over-sentimentalising the role of the passengers or the terrorists. Starts a bit slow but like a good book - hard to put down when things start happening.
Effective

Chillingly effective porytrayal of the events of 9/11 from the point of view of the passengers of one of the doomed flights and also from the perspective of the air-traffic controllers and military on the ground. Plays out for the most part in realtime while building tension the whole time. Pure drama.
Excellent

Very chilling and scary portrayal of events on 9/11, scored major points by not using established actors therefore making the story the central core of this movie, and it works very well highly recommend.
