Fails to live up to expectations

Tropic Thunder is enjoyable enough and has some superb moments. The praise for Robert Downey Jr. was justified and Stiller and Jack Black also put in a good shift. The gags are spread a little thin and the film just seems to drag. Its worth a look at if you're in the mood but its no comedy classic by any stretch. I doubt anyone would want to watch it a second time.
Downey Jr is the real star

This movie would never been as good if Downey Jr was not in it. When he says in the extras that he was doing this as fill in betwen the Iron Man movies, you believe him. Stiller lacks charisma and Black looks lost as his character gets little screen time. Overall not the best from the Stiller camp but just about watchable. The shorts at the start are funny though.
terrible movie

One of the worst films i have seen in years. I was really looking forward to this movie but after an hour i just wanted to turn it off. Ben Stiller is unfunny and playing the same role he has played 10 times before. Downey is good but the movie does not provide any good set pieces for him. avoid
Bit of a let down.

I thought this was going to be better than it was, once again they show you all the good stuff in the trailer. That said it was still quite funny, the trailers for the actors previous movies at the start are very good and Robert Downey Jnr steals the show.
Desperate

Absolutely total rubbish usually enjoy Stiller’s outings but this takes the biscuit about the only piece that got a smile was Tom Cruise parts robbed me of nearly and hour an a half of my life, terrible.
