I'm a big fan of anything science fiction, fantasy or action related, but Troll Hunter just did not do it for me. Shaky camerawork aside, -it is after all an integral part of of 'monster documentaries -the story was by-the-book, contrived, and took forever to get going. In addition the characters were very typical -usual mix of nerdy college kids, and the gruff veteran hunter.
A lot of other folks seemed to like it, so maybe if you endure the first half, it picks up in the second. Guess I'll never know...

Painfully Slow Plot Build-up

Troll Hunter did nothing for me. I found the plot so slow, and the characters so stereotypical that I turned it off after 40 minutes, and I've only ever done that with 4 or 5 films. A lot of other people seemed to like it, so maybe it picks up in the second half, but the boredom of the first killed my interest, so I Guess I'll never know...

I'm glad I watched this; was intrigued since I first heard of it. But now I'm not sure if it was worth the effort. Its main fault is it's too long - there isn't enough to the story to merit a full-length feature. But it's very well made with good acting, witty dialogue, good special effects and the beautiful Norwegian landscapes.

Has a kind of Blair Witch feel to certain parts of it and all the camera shaking is annoyingly like Cloverfield. Overall its watchable but you dont really engage with the characters. The trolls are well done but its not one I'd be recommending.

I can't believe this is called a movie, it was that bad. I can't even describe it, i fast forward to the end to see if it got any better and it didn't. You should rent it just to see how bad it is Ha Ha
