I like this well enough especially the twists and turns and the exploration of morality -v- expediency in the face of apparently hopeless criminality all around the unfortunate rookie as he undergoes on-th-job training at the hands of an old pro. However, my partner hated it especially the noisy violence etc.. and absence of any meaningful love interest I suppose.

Hawke is the rookie set alongside the excellent Washington on the streets of LA. Denzel plays another winning role as the experienced cop who walks the line of illegality in his daily activities. A cracking crime/action/drama that delievers on all fronts.
