Fantastic, if depressing, movie

A wonderful movie. It does not provide an answer since we don't have one. Look it up on wikipedia to see the current state of affairs.
The movie begins with the bees, which is very strange indeed, since they seem
to have vanished. Suddenly 1000's, 10000's etc gone in weeks, with no bodies to be found. How weird is that! So they then look for causes, and that is

The storytelling of this problem was quite good if a little folksy adn overly-simplistic in spots. On the positive side it does give a fairly clear outline of the problem and suggests how it might have been caused. Unfortunately it doesn't really offer any clear answers. This is the type of documenraty that you might see on BBC2. Decent fare but a little too much in love with its subject. Even so it is enaging enough but it probably could also have done without the sponsorship by a major retai

One of the highlights of this film is the way it talks about the negative impact of pesticides in farming. They go to France to show how the government there cut the use of some pesticides but the film never discusses what happens after that. Did the bees come back after they outlawed the pesticides? You're left with the feeling that pesticides are bad, but we already knew that. I think they could have dug a little deeper with this one.
