Confusing, but stick with it

There's only one problem with this film: the two protagonists are confusingly similar. The actors look similar; they wear similar clothes; they are both stage magicians with similar acts; they even wear the same disguise when spying on each other's acts. At different points, each one reads the other's private journal, which sets up another thread of flashbacks. Tackle this film while sober.
Once you can reliably tell Angier from Borden, the story is an exceptionally compelling one about escalating rivalry. I can't say more without spoiling the story.
The second best thing about the movie is that Nikola Tesla is played by David Bowie. The best thing is that on the second play-through, you'll notice a dozen things that will make you ask yourself "how come I didn't pick up on the significance of that the first time?". Again, I can't explain without spoiling.

Complex and engaging.

Will have you talking about it after it's over. Great compromise for a couple, though don't put it on too late as it requires attention.
Well worth it.
Good family movie

This was a clever movie appealing to our early teens. It was quite long but it held their interest. Great twist at the end!
Very Strong

An earlier Christopher Nolan offering that lives up to his name. Excellent.
