4.5 out of 10 The Notebook
Trish from Limerick, 27 Oct 2010
What a lovely movie. You get so lost in the story being told that you forget that there is a subplot going on until near the end and then you are brought firmly back to reality and the strain of alzheimers on patients & carers. True to life

4 out of 10 I decided I wouldn't cry...
Val from Offaly, 26 Mar 2010
This movie was wonderful - really fresh and different. Everyone had told me they cried throughout so I promised myself that I wouldn't... but at the very end I was in floods! It was a beautiful, uplifting story!

I really enjoyed this film. It is unusual and moving. It is pure romance. It is different and fresh in its approach. It is great entertainment.

What's it about....
A sweeping love story told by a man reading from his faded notebook to a woman in a nursing home. The Notebook follows the lives of two North Carolina teens from very different worlds. Though her upbringing takes places in an antebellum mansion and he grew up in the kind of house where musicians jam on the porch, that doesn't stop Noah and Allie from spending on incredible summer together before they are separated, first by her parents, and then by WW2.
