Coen Brothers Light

Its a worthy attempt at Coen classic humour, but falls just a little short. The plot, whilst apparently part true, is ridiculous and appropriately developed. Jeff Bridges is almost back on form with a 'Dude' like performance. Ewan McGregor needs to work on his American accent a bit more. Kevin Spacey plays a sneaky manipulative weasel very well. But Clooney steals the show. He is the films true redeeming factor. Watchable but definitely a diet version of a typical Coen Brothers adventure.

Thanks, but why?

This should have been good, in that the line up of Clooney, Macgregor and Spacey conjures up an idea of something special... But when all was said and done at the end the film, I was left sitting there thinking "well, lovely, but what was this about?". It's not that funny, not all that dramatic and the dialogue was forgettable. Macgregors "namby pamby" American accent was not needed I felt. Maybe it helps to be blottoed when watching it?

Trust the Bad Reviews!

I saw this film advertised and thought it looked brilliant! However it was quite the opposite. It was boring, not funny, dull and had no storyline. I did read the reviews before renting but thought people were being harsh but they weren't! I like some stupid, silly films, but this didn't even gain a chuckle from me. Trust me, don't rent this, don't waste your time!
Cohens on Form

Another Cohen victory. Great film and really enchanced by excellent performances from George Clooney and Jeff Bridges. Quirky, left of centre and irreverently funny- all that's you'd expect from a Cohen brothers film. Worth watching and then watching again.
Easy going

A clever and easy going comedy based on real facts!!! I saw the Blu-Ray edition and there's a documentary at the end with interviews to the real characters depicted in the movie, you wont believe that this people actually existed :-)
