run of the mill

This film does not work as a suspense/ghost story because it is neither suspenseful nor original. You have seen it all before: woman has nightmares/visions, by "pure coincidence" finds the relevant location, experiences supernatural events, by "pure chance" finds ghost hunter, uncovers that all this relates to her own past (you didn't see THAT coming, did you), ghosts are put to rest - yay! Only redeeming feature is that it does not bank on torture, gore and cruelty to provide "entertainment"

one serious yawnfest

As the other reviewer said, you have seen this done 15 times already, but much better. The director seems to think that loud crashing noises and jump cuts every 5 minutes are what makes a great horror.
If you want to see a genuinely creepy horror film about the past catching up with you, watch "The abandoned" instead.
