Simplistic but good for an action film
Maggie from Mayo, 08 Jul 2008
If you like simplistic morals, things blowing up and lots of blood (coupled with American syrup and flag-waving) then you'll like this. It throws a few nods in the direction of the moral dilemmas the characters face, but the shallow acting is typical of an action movie so you really couldn't care less.
As they go this isn't bad provided you want a "machine-gun fight at the OK Corral". If you want a thought-provoking film, this isn't it.
The Kingdom

1 hour 40 minutes - enjoyable movie. Unlike a lot of the current movies based on the war on terror this movie is simple to follow, not trying to be too smart, no major twists and is worth renting.
An action movie with a slight politcal theme rather than some of the bland political/war movies recently.
The Kingdom

Facinating glimpse into the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia, via a team of FBI investigators brought into Riyad to help locals plod sift through the latest Islamic attrocity there. Some good action sequences, photography and good ensemble cast pull this one off effortlessly.
Not Good
Paul from Limerick, 26 Apr 2008
Slick, but too simplistic and gung-ho. The usual guff about an group of American agents going to the Middle East (Saudi Arabia in this case) and rooting out terrorists within a matter of days. Action sequences were ok considering the masses of cash poured into this.
unbiased american film for once

well - i was surprised to enjoy this movie - have to sit through confusing first 20 to 30 minutes - but it was a relief to see an american film showing a little bit of muslim / foreign life without too much bias!! worth watching.
