Smart, complex and insightful

A detailed study of the sociopath mind. It has been criticized for the realism of the violence but better that than than duplicity through sanitization. It has also been criticized for its portrayal of women - and while this is questionable it is also and essentially a portrayal from the point of view of the killer and so essentially skewed as to be almost surreal in places.
Killer.

Sometimes it can be hard to follow the dialogue because of the southern drawl but that aside this is a dark violent tale from a laid back sleepy Texan town. Casey Afleck plays a lawman whose violent upbringing leads him to murder. Some graphic violent scenes but some good performances from the lead actors also. Worth a look if you like the slow burner type thriller.
Creepy

Quite the strange one. With all the mumblings of small town folk, its quite difficult to actually work out whats going on in this twisted film. Sudden random violence mixed with a slow laid back texan way of life, an odd combination. The jury is definitely out on this one.
Oh My God

Don't select this on the basis of the actors in it, I must have. The violence against women is graphic! Well done to the actresses but I never want to see something like that again.
Worthless

I can't believe I went to the cinema to watch this!!! I wish I could take back two hours of my life wasted on this terrible, sorry excuse of a movie. Don't bother, really...
