Don't believe the hype

Was expecting a lot but was a bit disappointed. Not a stinker by any means as it had lots of funny moments (the 3 criminals having intellectual debates about meaningless topics whilst callously carrying out hits). Gleeson has some great lines too. Overall though it was a bit too stage Irish for my liking. Story itself was pretty weak and the cursing was OTT. I was cringing during the first 20 minutes but it did improve a bit as it went on.

Dreadful

What a mess. critically acclaimed you say !
Are the critics afraid of the Mcdonagh brothers or what ?
Truly awful, script is in need of major re-writing, editing is appalling, concept is outdated. Even the superb Brendan Glesson could not help this rubbish effort. Has the look and feel of a first year film school student film.
In Bruges it is not - dont spoil the memories of that great movie by renting this rubbish.
The Guard

Although quite short, this is a snappy, well crafted, very very funny film. Real laugh out loud stuff. Quite violent, so be aware of that. Well rounded characters, with Brendan Gleeson heading the cast - he is just wonderful ! Put me in a good mood all evening.......
Passed it on to a friend.
Disappointing

Though there was a few funny quips in the film, it was very disappointing. Not as funny as I expected a film with Brendan Gleeson in it, to be. If you are looking to laugh your sides off, do not watch this, but if you want a little light heartedness and a chuckle or two then this if for you.
Not one of Gleeson's best

I normally love a Brendan Gleeson movie, but this one, well give it a miss, very dated view of Ireland and not much to laugh at. I thought this would be worth getting having seen the trailers both on TV and in cinema, but I ended up turning it off half way through.
