The Escapist
Alan from Dublin, 04 Apr 2009
This was one of those ... "did you put this on the list of rentals or did I ?" ... as we both positioned ourselves to blame the other one for renting it. And while "she" went to bed just after it started, I gave it more time, and I really enjoyed it, not just because of the setting, but the way it draws you into the story and plays with the logic of time, and then pounces an unexpected ending upon you. Good movie.
Soft Emotional Centre in a Tough Prison Cell
Rory from Dublin, 20 Apr 2010
A smartly directed debut which should be hailed as one of the greatest british films of 2008. The film boasts the emotional centre and twist fanale which ensures that the Escapist holds its own against such prison break classics as Escape from Alcatraz or Shawshank Redemption. Director Rupert Wyatt is a talent to watch.

JOE from Dublin, 29 Apr 2009
A bit slow and boring but in someway pulls you into it ,not the best jail based film nor the worst,it picks up as it moves along, shot in Kilmainham jail by the looks of it
