Only Ok

This is the story of 3 brothers together after a yearlong absence since their father’s funeral, trying to re-connect with each other on a spiritual journey through India, and attempting to meet with their mother, now a nun in a remote convent in India. I usually love Wes Andersons films (The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic), they are funny, sharp and slightly odd and shot in a very unique way, however this is one of his poorest films. It was almost like someone trying to impersonate his sty

Not Anderson's finest

Anderson has made some excellent offbeat movies ('Rushmore' is a favorite, while 'The Royal Tenenbaums' is also fantastic) and he teams up with the Wilson's here again but to lesser effect. The story follows the three brothers as they take a trip to locate their estranged mother, but the plot specifics are mostly irrelevant as this is a character piece from start to finish. Easy enough viewing but lacks the bite of other Anderson efforts.
The Darjeeling Limited

Seriously recommend this movie for wry humour, colour, amazing India, fab cameos and supporting cast, and the 3 main characters who are fantastic. Loved the soundtrack (it's worth getting for that) and the whole feel good factor, with darker undercurrents.
Best film I've seen in the last couple of years!
Laden with symbolism but visually stunning.

Great performances from the leads, fantastically shot, an amusing cameo from Bill Murray, almost perfect! The movie has a tendency though to try to drown itself in symbolic scenes which get a little tiring as the movie progresses, but what did I expect from a Wes Anderson film!? Well worth a look!
irritating Drivel

This film had huge chances with the script and locations to be truly great, instead it was all wasted by a lack-lustre performance from the main character. It's only saving graces are the cameo performances by Anjelica Huston and Bill Murray and the wonderful scenery.
