4 out of 10 Give this a try!
Brenda from Galway, 16 Aug 2010
Fantasy, funny, great acting, very cleverly put together plot, a weird sense of humour does help I will admit - but certainly worth a look at. One of those film you will either love or hate. And even Matt Damon's english accent is believable (!) and of course Heath Ledger is great as always, one of those actors who was always able to adapt to different roles and make you forget the last role he played. Different, yes, but entertaining too. Just remember it is a Terry Gilliam movie.

2.5 out of 10 average

the effects are good but a missed opportunity, it could have had a really good comedy element to it. Quite a few big names and faces so the acting is spot on.

3.5 out of 10 Not what you expect
John from Donegal, 02 Dec 2008
The Grimm Fairy Tales filmed as if it was a biography of the Grimms themselves. Silly, fun, and very Terry Gilliam. The french accents are very Allo Allo.

3 out of 10 Not Enough Substance
Karen from Galway, 27 Oct 2008
While this movie is visually spectacular, the plot leaves something to be desired, which is disappointing from Gilliam.

Mark from Wicklow, 30 Dec 2007
They tried to get every fairy tale mentioned in this movie which made it a bit of a joke.

Set in early 18th Century French-occupied Germany, The Brothers Grimm stars Matt Damon as Will Grimm and Heath Ledger as Jake Grimm, siblings who travel the countryside as snake-oil salesmen, convincing unsuspecting towns that they are...
