Watching the Brave 1 it didnt encourage me to buy it on dvd as there doesnt seem to be a hole lot to re discover watching it again, however it is a unique film in that the main character seems to be in a non-violent job but takes the vigilante type attitude almost to the max in self defense and manges to survive. Also this role for would be typical of a male role in a film and it works well and is interesting to watch a female play this kind of character. If you like this, rent Death Sentence
Contrived

I wanted to like this more than I actually did. Foster is very good as the hollow soul of a woman who seeks revenge on those who killed her beau. But there are some plot turns that just don't fit and these take away from the overall effect. This is a thriller at heart and it asks questions about the actions of those who would go outside the law for justifiable revenge. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Although the main themes of the movie - based around a vigilante serial killer - are somewhat clichéd, this was actually a very good movie. The performances from the two leads are excellent, and Foster's performance in particular, contributes greatly to making the plot seem more believable than it might sound on paper.
The Brave One

The Brave One has a very human and real story for our modern world. The death of Fosters partner one night changes her life. This film explores the pain of street violence, the fear and insecurity that is left and the inner desire for justice and revenge. Slow moving in places but otherwise worth a watch.

This is only OK, it is a concept that has been used before and this one is very slow. Jodie seems to be paying to star in her own movies at the moment. She produced this one.
Even the missus was bored to sleep during this one.
