if you want to just relax and watch a movie don't choose this one.
absolutely brilliant performances from start to finish but very
intense and heavy going.a lot of balls being juggled in the air at the
same time.none the less at the end you do feel as if you've just
witnessed an excellent movie.i'm a person that believes corruption
is rife everywhere so this movie didn't tell me anything i don't
already suspect,it just confirms it.it's a fly on the wall documentary
showing the real u.s.a

A long drawn out sad and complicated movie. Worth a watch if you are interested in mid East stories. Violent but what else could it be? I lived for 8 years in Saudi Arabia and having spent a lot of that time with saudi royalty, I thought the characters and the ending especially believable.I just got out in time myself in June 2001, only
3 months before September 11th. I have first hand knowledge of the Saudi ways. I enjoyed this movie. How I miss the desert and the Sunshine.The memories...
Worthy....and worth a watch

This film is extremely ambitious in seeking to expose the interests that cover politics and power in DC, CIA interference in geopolitics, oil companies investing in America and China, and the succession to the throne of a gulf state. Does it pretty well, but is confusing for large parts - not because one lacks patience as it is all drawn together, but rather that it jumps around too much before giving enough information. Jeffrey Wright is excellent, GC great as ever, great ensemble cast.

The patchwork approach to making this film was a bit frustrating but fine acting and great photography made up for that. Having to wait until the very end for all the parts to come together (if it was somewhat expected)required patience but the patience paid off.
The action scenes are gripping but realistically shot and happily lack bravado as so many of these do. I liked this movie from beginning to end.

This is a very picturesque film that does not rely on the script to carry its heavy message, which exactly is what I'm not sure, but it is strikingly well shot. I like George but then what redblooded female doesnt. One of a rash of films concentrating on the middle east or other deserty countries with subtitles and inscrutable facial expressions .
