Well worth a look

I loved the Chris Reeves films as a kid and was afraid what this installment would do to them. Ithink it is an intelligent film, well written and acted, with enough twists and turns to keep me surprised. It's slickly filmed and although I feel it goes a little too much down the angst ridden hero road that all comic book films do these days, it did so with a purpose. I found myself sympathysing with the hero and it ended properly, with no obvious cliff-hanger for another follow-on film.

rubbish.

Too long and also not very good. I didn't like this at all. I thought the superman and lois lane characters were much too young, hes supposed to have gone away for 7 years and this is after being superman for a while but somehow when he comes back hes only about 25 and lois must have had a teenage pregnancy. Overall the story was stupid. Kevin spacey looked like he was unsure wheather he was supposed to be evil or funny. Another poor superhero film.

Magical theme tune!

Few moments in recent cinema got me going as much as the famous Superman theme tune blasting out as the planets and moons whip by in the opening credits of Superman Returns. It's incredible music and its retention here is a winning decision. Overall the movie suffers with some pacing issues but the action sequences are second to none. Pure popcorn.
Enjoyable

I liked this, not as much as the Spiderman movies or Batman Begins but it's a decent comeback. Kate Bosworth is an awful choice as Lois Lane and for me is the only off-putting thing, but Kevin Spacey makes up for it as Lex Luthor and Parker Posey is good also.
Good, but slow moving at times

I like Superman movies and enjoyed this one although I felt it was a bit slow to start and dragged a bit throughout. Good special effects and storyline. Not enough humour in it though.
