I had heard a lot over the years about this film, but had somehow never seen it. When I watched this, I wasn't disappointed. The story is simple, yet touching, a classic coming of age story. Even more remarkable are the performances of the young actors, right down to an almost unrecognisable Jerry O'Connell. For once, a film that lives up to its reputation.

One of my favourite movies of all time. This film has everything you could want - humour, tragedy and a fantastic soundtrack. The four leading stars give a fantastic and very believable performance, especially a young River Phoenix.

Hadn't seen this film in years but on seeing at again I realised it is a good as i remembered. Great performances from all the young actors and also a great story.
