Nicely unpleasant swamp movie
Patrick from Cork, 20 Feb 2008
A film which has, perhaps unfairly, suffered from three decades of comparison with John Boorman's "Deliverance", but still succeeds as an unpleasant and unsettling thriller that manages to combine agoraphobia, paranoia and claustrophobia. Tension reaches a high in the Cajun village, and you're guaranteed to remember the music (and what happens to the pigs) for a good while afterwards.
Don't bother

This film may have worked 30 years ago but it hasn't aged well. Terrible acting, one-dimensional characters, lacks any real suspense. The movie just drags on and on until the inevitable, obvious climax. Best avoided.
Southern Comfort

Not quiet up to the standard of Deiverance but a good movie and far better than alot of recent movie which seem to have taken a lot of ideas from this.
