Say hello to the bad guy
James from Limerick, 25 Nov 2008
Pacino chews the scenery as Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee interned in early eighties Miami. Turning assasin to obtain a green card, he quickly figures out how things work in America.
Extremly violent & sweary, but deserving of the 18 rating mostly because of the fashion & interior decor.
One of those have to see movies, if only to understand GTA & why the posters feature on every student bedsit wall.
Best bit? The climax, where Tony does his best to wipe out a whole generation of Columbians.

Not for the faint hearted

A completely visceral absorbing tour de force, anti heroes don't come as flawed as Pacinos turn as Tony Montana. Though he seems like evil incarnate you can't take your eyes off him and almost wish that some redeeming qualities will surface . A fantastic take on the dirty underbelly of the American imigrant experience. Don't watch if a particular four lettered swear word offends you, it practically constitutes 4/5 of the script!
Bad blows the good away

Every student has the poster, but the film isn't all that. It has its moments, but the dialog is often very clunky and the story is a bit daft at times. It's dated terribly as well.
Rightly an all time classic
