Running With Scissors

Loved this movie! It was quirky, warped, bizarre & hilarious. Annette Benning was at her bitchy strung-out best & Gwyneth Paltrow was superb again as a dark character, much like her Royal Tennenbaums character. It's a screwed up story that makes you laugh & makes you think & has all the trippy nostalgia of the 60's & 70's (as well as all the weird psychiatric practices of the time) mixed in. The weirdest part is that it is at least loosely based on a true story. It's a must see.

Atrocious

One of the good things about watching a film at home is that one can turn it off without going through the scene of getting up and leaving the theatre while the film is still running. Such is the case with "Running with Scissors". It is a horribly failed attempt to make a comedy out of abuse and mental illness. Unfunny, unworthy, and utterly contemptuous crap.
Fantastic!

I absolutely loved this movie, one of the best I've come across in years. Quirky but believable characters brought to life through excellent acting; you get the impression that everyone had fun making the film. It's destined to become a cult classic.

Fantastic, fabulous, tells a true story in an exceptionally realistic way. All the acting was very top notch. If you want to see what suburban life in the states was like in the early 70's, check it out.
Really strange

This is a true story but I just found it to seem like one of those films that wanted to be Garden State or Lost in translation or even Shop girl. So mixed up and boring at times you could cry.
