4.5 out of 10 Barbaric and 'Bloody' Brilliant!
Darren from Dublin, 17 Jan 2008
I think after being bombarded with three pirates of the carribean movies, we are sick of pirates. So lets give the vikings a go! Perhaps we'll be buying the kids viking helmets for next christmas:) Who know's? Seriously though, this is a great movie. Same k-i-n-d-a feel to Mel Gibsons Apocalypto. This movie is stylish, gory, and an interesting idea. I loved it. The main star is Keith Urban, an upcoming star of The Bourne Supremacy fame. Think I'll buy this one for the collection.

3 out of 10 Pathfinder
Martin from Kerry, 27 Nov 2007
I had heard some awful things about this. Truth is it isn't actually that bad. It's just that for a big budget movie it fails to be overly impressive. Lots of running around in the woods, in caves and movie sets and no significant battle scenes to speak of, nothing on a grand scale at all. Its not the worst way to spend a few hours though, there is still some things to enjoy, like the viking warriors and it certainly doesn't drag.

3 out of 10 Somewhat interesting
John from Dublin, 24 Apr 2008
Not an extremely deep movie about Vikings raids on pre-Columbus North-America. There is no extensive dialogue but the movie is quite interesting to watch if you're into sword and spear type action (not too far from conan the barbarian). Somewhat stereotyped characters and at times predictable sequence of events are the main downsides but over all the mood and style make the movie worth watching at least once.

1.5 out of 10 Pathfinder
peter from Westmeath, 27 Jan 2008
I thought this would be better. It starts well enough but just gets worse throughout. During fight/chase scenes vikings keep popping out of nowhere. One moment he gets away and suddenly he's surrounded. When a good guy dies theres time for a tender moment then another viking pops up and is quickly dispatched. Its extremely predictable and theres too much CGI blood flying around.
