4.5 out of 10 Great movie but you need a head for heights
Alan from Dublin, 04 Jul 2010
A great movie which was a surprise since I didn't have high expectations. Well acted with very realistic climbing scenes and beautiful scenery. You really get to know the characters and all the time have to keep reminding yourself that this is a true story, this really happened.

4 out of 10 North Face
derek from Dublin, 04 Jun 2009
I really enjoyed this movie, the graphics and climbing scenes were first class. far more realistic and a lot less cgi than vertical limit or other climbing movies. a true story and these guys did this nearly 80 years ago. its in german with english subs but you barely notice.

3.5 out of 10 Good film, well told story, not very cheery.
Olga from Dublin, 20 Nov 2009
Film is in German with english subtitles. Not a problem though as its mainly about the climbing exploits of a couple of young germans. Hardy lads, its fascinating to see what they would have had to go through. A tragic tale, it is good, but not a very happy story.

5 out of 10 WOW

I absolutely loved it. Mind you though, it was hard for me to watch. But again movie is brilliant, it felt like it's happening the minutes you are watching the movie as if all of that was real at the moment.

Being the first means not only a longed-for boost of their social standing, but also Olympic gold. As they get ready for their climb, they meet Luise, Toni's childhood sweetheart, a journalist who has been sent to report about the conquest of the mountain with her fellow...
