Sprawling showpiece

This should have oscar nomination written all over it, but there are reasons (I feel) beyond the film why that wouldn't happen. Imagine RAIN MAN meets FOREST GUMP and add some Bollywood glitz and I think that should cover it. Both leads have natural appeal and instant likeability, no surprise given that they have lead together in several sucessful Bollywood movies. There are some very dark undertones but it's a feel good movie at the end. Forgive the Bollywood schmaltz at the end, I think they d

Heartwarming

This was a little bit 'Bollywood does autism and 9/11' but it was also beautiful and heartwarming, a very gentle film about a very gentle person. My son is autistic and I would usually avoid a movie about autism, it is enough to have to live with it without watching it as well! However, I was glad I saw 'My name is Khan', it is a difficult condition to portray and I thought that the actor did a wonderful job.

OK... this is NOT a good film. Its Rain man meets Gandhi and Gandhi it’s not!!!...and Rain Man it’s not either!
However it has some good plot lines and deals with an interesting subject but it’s way too hard hitting is some parts and totally infantile at others. The biggest problem is that it can't seem to make up its mind what it is. I'd say give it a miss and watch the TV
A real feel-good film

Excellent portrayal of aspergers syndrome. Amazing acting from all involved, especially 2 main leads. Some scenes are quite over the top(rescuers wading through water to reach hurricane survivors comes to mind) however if you can overlook these twee moments & rely on the sentiment and serious subject matter you will be rewarded.

I would recommend this bollywood movie. No music but enjoyable romance. Sure you have to read the subtitles but as most of it is set in the USA the context is familiar and very up to date. A view of how we would like the world to be while addressing very real problems but in an endearing way.
