Best of the Pythons films?
Brian from Mayo, 01 Aug 2008
This is probably the best of the Monty Python films, with the sets and costumes convincing. Famously banned in Ireland on release, it is hard looking at it today to see why. The Python crew take a swipe at religion, revolutionaries and Romans, as well as anything else that crosses their path. It contains the famous "what have the Romans done for us" sketch as well as "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". You don't need to be a Python fan to enjoy this.

He's not the Messiah...etc.

Parallel life to Christ's, mocking the mayhem that was Judea at the time, and how little people have changed since; you can imagine Jesus himself wondering were we even worth saving.
Soooo close to blasphemy, it took a real set of artists to avoid stepping over the line. Best bit? take your pick, but I like Brian's Latin lesson & line-punishment. Bloody Romans!
Good movie

I would have been better able to judge this movie if most of it's good jokes hadn't already been spoiled for me.
Never a big Monty Python fan, but this is a good movie for me.
Timeless classic
