Irish gangsters at war

Another classic film from the Coen Brothers. Gabriel Byrne has never been better as the somewhat reluctant gangster. The plot is furiously fast and complex, and it probably needs to be watched more than once just to work out whats happening, but the script is brilliant, full of dazzling one-liners, and some individual scenes are masterly. Hugely entertaining.
Coens on song

Hadn't seen the film in years and was delighted to catch up with it again. Gabriel Byrne' hasn't really had as good a film vehicle as this. Albert Finney excellent as usual and a nice showing from John Turturro. Good gangster flick with plenty of twists.
Rambling, plotless...

Good actors but the lack of direction in the film just makes for frustrating viewing. Don't bother with this one.
Enjoyable
