1 out of 10 Watched it to see the countryside!
Ciaran from Westmeath, 02 Nov 2011
Leap Year plays on all the stereotypes and comes out poor. It is hard to watch at first, but I persevered as I wanted to see my home country on film, instead I saw backwards view of my modern nation and while the lead actor is hot and broody and not that dissimilar to Paul Galvin (Kerry Footballer), he had british tones in his voice and they stick out like a sore thumb when ur from Ireland! If they explained that he grew up in england and moved to Kerry then u might say ahh... I see but instead they expect us to leave our brain outside the door.... I won't even get started on how she gets a ferry from wales to cork (not the obvious route to get to Dublin) and ends up in Dingle (which is further west again) ... makes no sense whatsoever for anyone who knows anything about geography!

1.5 out of 10 Just about passable as a rom com
Blandine from Dublin, 13 Oct 2010
This is rife with stereotypes, paddywackery and stuff that makes absolutely no sense for an Irish person - i.e. how the lead actress manages to end up in Dingle on the west coast of Ireland having left on a boat from Holyhead, Wales. But this sets things up for the film where the lead has to cross "little old Ireland" to get to Dublin. If this was set in another country that I knew nothing about would it work. No. Not really. While Amy Adams is great, the lead actor is so so. It's very predictab

0.5 out of 10 So bad its almost good.
Karolyn from Carlow, 09 Sep 2010
Avoid this at all costs!! Heard few bad reviews but because it was filmed in Ireland thought it was worth a look. The absolute worst sterotypes of Ireland throughout ... travellers in a blue Hiace steal her suitcase, owl lads sitting in a dingy pub that serves as the restaurant hotel and local taxi for the entire area and the dodgiest Oirish accent since Gerard Butler in PS I love you. 'Typical' Irish phrases such as 'riddle me this (???) te be shure, hang sangwitches and saying Bab at the end

2.5 out of 10 Love leap year and a trip to ireland
keith from Dublin, 24 Aug 2010
A realtor is determined to marry her fiance by proposing to him in Dublin on a leap year. Apparently, women can propose to men every four years. but that is just the start, she flies to wales, instead of dublin and the fun starts there. Amy adams is funny in the role and is quite quirky. I liked this film, but you could tell what was going to happen but not bad.

3.5 out of 10 Leap Year
Marcella from Cork, 20 Jul 2010
Enjoyable light entertainment. Nice to see several well known Irish actors employed for the film, although 'Hollywood Oirish' evident thoughout. Characters Anna (Amy Adams) and Declan (Matthew Goode) do not seem to gell at the beginning but this changes as the film progresses. Works well overall.
