3 out of 10 Strange
Wayne from Kildare, 04 Jun 2008
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" is a pretty strange film which goes against the grain and, thanks to fine performances from Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer, just about pulls it off. Downey Jr plays Harry Lockhart, a small time thief who stumbles upon an audition for an acting part while fleeing the scene of a crime. He does enough to convince the casting crew that he has talent and is assigned to a gay private investigator, Perry (Kilmer), to learn some tips for his proposed acting debut.

3.5 out of 10 Better then I was led to believe.
John from Donegal, 12 Dec 2008
A Thief gets mistaken for an Actor and it sent for a screen test in Hollywood, and gets involved in a Murder. I found this film quite engaging. Downey plays his usual type, good guy with bad tendencies, but the real star for me was Val Kilmer, who really through himself into the part of casting agent. Downey also narrates the film, which I found annoying at times. But overall, I really enjoyed it.

4 out of 10 Good stuff
Ciaran from Dublin, 11 May 2007
Downey Jr. leads a good cast in this fast paced action/thriller that is very entertaining indeed. There's a lot going on but it's presented nicely and this makes it excellent popcorn fodder. Val Kilmer adds to the proceedings while Michelle Monaghan looks stunning. I liked it!

4 out of 10 Very Enjoyable.
Brian from Mayo, 05 Nov 2007
This is a hugely enjoyable film noir spoof, with Robert Downey Jr. on top form. The script is by turns funny, violent, sexy and serious. There are the usual twists and turns, and they are superbly handled by the writer/director Shane Black (the man who wrote Lethal Weapon 1).

2.5 out of 10 Entertaining
Nuno from Cork, 29 Aug 2008
I's entertaining but very far fetched in some parts. Had a few good laughs with it though. The story is very poor and relies a lot on supposed unpredictable twists to keep it interesting. Doesn't really succeed though. Not great, but not a waste of time either.

What's it about....
Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey Jr.) is basically a decent guy. Sure, he's a petty thief who skates through life on a shaky cocktail of dog-eared charm and cockeyed optimism, but he wants to do the right thing. He just doesn't know how, exactly. Harry's perpetual bad luck takes a turn for the better when he and his partner are doing some after-hours Christmas "shopping" at a New York City toy store and the security alarm breaks up the party. In making his frantic getaway...
