In comparsion with the book - rather disappointing. It could have been so much more of an adventure. They obviously don't intend to make a sequel, the way that they changed the ending. I loved the way that the countryside descriptions were brought to life but just the same - could have been so much better. Did not hold the attention of the family, who found it very disappointing. Enjoyed meeting the characters though.

A really refreshing story. In an age where books are being forgotten in favour of computer games, dvds and tv I think this will work with children. Super cast including Helen Mirren, Jim Braodbent and the multi-talented Andy Serkis.Lots of CGI but still enjoyable in a surprising way.Worth a go.
Dark and unusual

I watched this film and personally if ur kids dont like dark films I wouldnt recommend this one. However it is an interesting story and very well acted. Though for me it was an unusual style.

This could have been a Fab movie, the first hour was great, and Brendan Frazer is great, but it looses its way in the 2nd half and Andy sirkis was an awful baddie!

This film was ok, though i think they could have done alot more with the film i think, but there wasnt enough visual effects to keep my 2 boys interested ,
