5 out of 10 Infernal Affairs.....Must Watch
Darren from Dublin, 01 Jul 2008
I watched this along with the others in the trilogy and was blown away. I watched them all before i'd seen "The Departed" and felt robbed of 2 hours after watching "the departed". They took 3 great films and wrapped it all into 1 pile of american 2 hour dirt with Matt Damon speaking what has to be the worst Irish/American accent ive ever heard. Along with all of this "the departed" also ruined the ending. In "infernal affairs" the bad guy wins. Something the departed fails to do. No Balls!!!!!!!

5 out of 10 Philosophical Action. Think About It.
Brian from Dublin, 23 Apr 2010
There will only be one reference to Martin Scorsese's "The Departed" in this review and that is simply to say that its not worth a mention. This original is a far superior film (as is the case will all foreign films that are remade). Paralell lives, tortured existence, morality, philosophy, chases, action and suspense.... This film delivers it all with both style and substance.

3.5 out of 10 Good Movie
seamus from Dublin, 27 Jun 2007
I rented this after watching the departed as i had heard so much about it. as you can imagine the story pretty much mirrors the departed in every way. i probably prefer the departed over this but you have to remember that this came first and it really is a true original piece of work. i'd definatley recommend it.

3.5 out of 10 Possibly better than the Departed
John from Mayo, 15 Jun 2007
I rented this film after really enjoying The Departed and I actually think this original Hong Kong version is better. It is much leaner than the remake and it gets to the point much quicker. I recommend it and would recommend if possible that you watch it before watching the remake.
