In Bruges

Oh please do youself a favour and watch this movie. Brilliant!. What a pleasure to have such a different storyline other than sad old rehashes of age old cliches. Terrific actors. Colin Farrell is actually the weakest of the 3 but is still good. Ralf Fiennes is a total joy but the star is Brendan Gleason. Its been 48 hours since I saw the movie and I am still thinking about him. The only part of the movie that I hate is the fact that Bruges was a secret and now the whole world will know!!

Surpring drama

I'd seen lots of trailers for this and was expecting a LOCK STOCK or SNATCH type, I think the trailer makers were trying to pull a certain crowd in... But this film is a long way from that and actually plays a long with well developed characters who are at turmoil. Gleeson is brillant, Farrel's character is troubled and vulnerable. Looks beatiful, very crisp stock to capture Bruuge at it's finest and probably boosted local tourism

Likeable

Yes, a likeable little romp through Bruges (a lovely town, go there if you haven't been already). Colin Farrell looking more grown up but (deliberately) acting like a spoilt child. Good acting for the most part, but somewhat heavy on the attempts to get your emotions going. A bit more subtlety wouldn't have gone amiss. All in all an enjoyable film that takes no brainpower or concentration to watch.
Excellent but very dark

Don't be fooled by Gleeson and Farrell's Father Ted and Dougal kind of relationship in this one. This is a really good movie, kept me gripped from the first minute. Very funny in places, it's easy to be lulled into a sense of fun by this one, but don't relax too much. The dark broody moments are very intense and really quite nasty. The "extras" on the DVD add a lot as well.
Very funny but very violent...

I had been looking forward to seeing this film for ages and had heard other people rave about it and I was not disappointed by it at all. There are some great comic moments in it but it's definitely not for the faint-hearted. Ralph Fiennes is excellent at playing the villain and it's also nice to watch the camaraderie between Gleeson's and Farrell's characters develop.
