I Am Legend

I can't agree with the view that this is cack - some unforgettable imagery (such as 5th Avenue in New York totally deserted & overgrown) and a strong performance from Will Smith (check out the physical training extra material, he was purposely confined / hungry / disorientated to add credibility to his sense of isolation). Admittedly it is no milestone in terms of plot but it's not meant to be - and on Blu Ray the sound effects and scenery are spectacular. Made Empire's Top 500 movies of all tim

This is Legend!

I luv the review saying '28 Days Rip off!' It's a remake as someone else states of The Omega Man, which scared the beegeesus out of me as a child. I'm only half way through "Legend" cuz we got scared watching it & turned it off! I thought it would be crap based on the trailers but I was really impressed, especially with Smith's acting which made him perfect for it. I'm dying to go back now & watch the rest & don't care if the ending is as bad as it's supposed to be! & The Dog is deadly!

Good, but could have been great

A fascinating concept with the ever-watchable Smith in the lead that should be better than it is. As a spectacle, Legend looks great and the eeriness and surreal nature of NY desolated leaves its mark. But then as the plot progresses the holes appear. When you can openly question some of the plot holes then the movie loses its sheen and that's just as shame. Check out the alternative ending on the net for a different take on the last scene.

Remake by numbers

The last man on earth has run out of ideas for a film so goes back in time to plunder some good ones, adds in lots of sci-fi stuff so that it feels like Jurassic Park meets 28 Days Later meets The Day After Tomorrow. Now let's get an A-List star who can carry this crap on his back. Will Smith deserves better than this. Some of it is quite scary but not as scary as the lack of imagination required.

Stay in the light!

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this flick. I think a lot of people would have expectations that this film doesn't live up to: it's a little bit action, a little bit zombie-horror, and a bit of drama on being the last person in Manhattan and slowly losing it from sheer loneliness. If you can accept that this movie isn't all go go go and builds some backstory you're in for a good ride.
