4 out of 10 Gosford Park

A fine cast of the great and the good of the English stage and screen(and offspring as well). This is a charming tale of upstairs downstairs quality if set a little later than the t.v. series with a hint of Agatha Christie for good measure. There are tensions both upstairs and down for differing reasons yet some are linked. The lord of the manor is the key to the events of the hunting party and the consequences of his younger days.Enjoyable if you like a gentle rambling tale.

3 out of 10 A enjoyable movie
Mark from Dublin, 24 Jun 2010
With a stellar cast there is quite a bit of expectation from this film, it does deliver in sorts and I enjoyed the to and fro of the plot as the various stories unfolded around the whodunnit element but although enjoyable I couldnt help but feel that with the impressive cast that it should have been so much more and knocking on the door of classic status.

Very much of a certain era & way of country life in Britain. :-) film. Many characters so you'd want to be in to following many characters & following their connection to eachother!

I really enjoyed it. Lots of familiar faces. There are a lot of different characters to follow but trying to guess their connections was all part of the fun.

Great film from acclaimed director Robert Altman. Extremely good cast which complements a great story. Well worth a look.

What's it about....
Tea At Four. Dinner At Eight. Murder At Midnight. Robert Altman's awesome ensemble piece of the fears and foibles of the British upper class during the 1930's features an Oscar-winning screenplay from Julian Fellowes.
