3.5 out of 10 GOODBYE BAFANA
Donal from Dublin, 09 May 2008
Interesting from a historical point of view giving an insight into the tribulations of Nelson Mansela and the delimas of his prison guards. A bit difficult to keep up with the dialogue because of the South African accents ( however that was my problem). Enjoyable !

3.5 out of 10 Nice film
Maggie from Mayo, 19 Jan 2009
Kind of a "Feel bad then feel good" film. The baddie turns from hating the "Bloody blicks" into Mandela's champion. Moderately well filmed and acted although cliched in many parts. Good one if you're hungover and just want casual entertainment but nothing too noisy.

3.5 out of 10 Goodbye Bafana
Tim from Cork, 25 Jan 2008
A decent film that sees perhaps Joseph Fiennes' best performance to my knowledge. Based on a true story, the scene is set well and the narative has a sound structure... Worth watching alright!

2 out of 10 Goodbye Bafana
James from Sligo, 17 Nov 2008
This film gives a wonderful window into the apartheid situation in South Africa in a prison setting. The constant battle between blacks and whites is displayed in vivid detail.

4 out of 10 Goodbye Bafana
William from Dublin, 03 Sep 2008
An interesting insight into events in South Africa. Glimpses of key historical moments without turning it into a boring documentary. Thouroughly enjoyable.

This makes him an ideal choice to become the warder in charge of Nelson Mandela and his comrades on Robben Island. After all, Gregory speaks their language and can spy on them. However, the plan backfires. Through Mandela's influence, Gregory's allegiance gradually shifts from the racist government to the struggle for...
