The movie opens with the car crash and the death of Colin Firth's character's wife. To overcome their grief he and his two daughters move from Chicago to Genoa where he takes up a one year teaching post. It is beautifully filmed and Italy is sublime. The younger daughter is haunted by the car crash whilst the older one sows her oats.
Don't go to Genova!

This has a great cast and a wonderful setting but unfortunately doesn't really go anywhere. It's a difficult subject dealt with in a respectful and honest way, but the end is very weak and I was left wondering what happened! Very disappointing.

I think this is supposed to be Art! Cinematically superb.
From a really good opening and believable characters this movie wanders around Genoa and and eventually ends. No real plot, if you do watch it you will wonder why you did.

Desperately boring film... much too long on time short on content. Colin Firth is nice to look at but underpar as is everyone else in this big yawn.
