The first 40 mins of Fracture conrtain the best elements of the movie. The scene is set and the characters are developed into a very interesting setup. Then we enter a lull of about 30 mins where a completely unneccessary love interest is added and the main plot takes a break, to the detriment of the overall effect. It picks it back up agaiun and ends well enough. Hopkins and Gosling are where it is at here and while they are together in the movie is when it realy shines. Overall very good.

A strange mix of good and bad. The plot is very good with a neat twist at the end but some of the performances leave a lot to be desired. The chemistry between the Gosling character and the main female role just doesn't work and the likelihood of her as his boss bedding him at first sight almost is stretching credibility. Hopkins as always is very watchable but I feel he is reprising Hannibal a bit too much. Very Macchiavellian. Not the greatest but probably worth a look.

Anthony Hopkins hams it up but maybe not so much as the famous performance as Mr Lecter. Very enjoyable film that keeps you cursing yourself throughout on what crucial element of information have you overlooked in seeing how Hopkins character is getting away with it. As such the film puts you in a very sympathetic position with the one for the future Gosling. Well worth a watch.

Not a bad film at all but does require patience to get going. Hopkins gives a reserved performance, not his best by far, but worth viewing of you are a fan like myself. Mixes courtroom drama with a police procedural, but without any great performances from the supporting cast. Clever finale and a neat twist, but ultimately for light courtroom thriller fans.

He's just evil... you know it, the cops know it, but the poor ol' prosecution guy just can't an attempted murder rap stuck on him...
The acting is superb throughout and the plot very interesting! There is one slow patch in the film while we wait, knowingly, that any second Hopkins character is going to put the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons.
