Terrible...

Oh my... where to start with this film? I rented this based on strong star rating here and several recommendations from friends who said the film and the soundtrack were both excellent. I now know to no longer trust my friends opinions.
If you enjoy slow films with little or no dialog, unbelievable characters, unbelievable plot, unnecessary violence and wooden acting, then this is the film for you. The film frustrated from start to finish as the director attempts to create an air of suspense and mystery in the form of long, drawn out scenes where the characters stare at each other and say very little. It then flips from sparse conversation to seemingly unprovoked gratuitous violence. An example being the elevator scene where our hero decides it is necessary to stamp a guy's head into a bloody mess on the floor because he spotted he was carrying a gun. I don't mind bloody scenes in films if the plot warrants it. In the case of drive though, it seems like an unnecessary addition to ge

Really enjoyed it. great opening scene. it is very violent in places, but is not gratuitous violence (well maybe the one scene) which can make for some uncomfortable vieiwing. excellent actors, acting and soundtrack, great story and characters, a bit 80s on its approach, not a lot of dialogue
Excellent movie

Great cast, great concept, great script. great soundtrack......I basically loved it. It's very stylish and well made. The scene in the lift, which is totally mesmerizing, is worth the rental alone. Do yourself a favor and rent it out. I'd be surprised if you didn't like it.
Drive

A very good movie. Bit overrated I think and tries a little to hard to be cool. Gosling isn't bad even though he doesn't say much in the whole movie(too cool to speak I reckon) and does have "splatters" of bloody violence. Def worth a look
Quirky and interesting

Found myself really enjoying this quiet film despite its dark subject matter chafing off the overly delicate sound track. The choice of song at the end almost ruined it for me though.
