0 out of 10 It's actually worse than the original
Ken from Dublin, 25 Jul 2009
As a spotty teenager, Paul W.S. Anderson obliviously was a video game freak who had no friends and certainly did not have any contact with the opposite sex. You only have to look at his previous attempts to add to the world of Movies to see were his head is. Alien Vs Predator, Soldier and Mortal Kombat; All great additions to celluloid history. Death Race is a remake of the 1974 dribble, Death Race 2000 that starred David Carradine and incredibly Sly Stallone. It’s worth watching it just for Sl

3 out of 10 Typical Action movie.
John from Donegal, 18 Feb 2009
An ex-racing driver is set-up for the murder of his wife so he can be forced to take part in a lethal prison car race. Very formulaic action film, the plot is pretty transparent from the beginning, but if you like car chases, lots of explosions and Jason Statham with his top off alot (which I do) than you could spend a worse couple of hours. Shakespeare it ain't.

3 out of 10 Death Race
Shane from Galway, 25 Feb 2009
Didnt expect much when I went to watch this...ok the storyline is a bit thin & the action and stunts are bit over the top and while its not something that id watch a second time it was entertaining enough and has enough to keep any fans of this genre out there satisfied.

1.5 out of 10 Death Race
James from Sligo, 13 Mar 2009
Plenty of good action and special effects. The story of a professional driver who is set up for the murder of his wife, so that he can take part in a prison race - the Death Race. If you like action, speed, murder and plenty of action this one is for you.

3.5 out of 10 Better than expected
Mark from Dublin, 26 Mar 2009
I wasnt expecting much from this one but you can engage with the characters and there isnt too much to the plot to deviate from...all action. Must see for all Statham fans

What's it about....
From director Paul W.S. Anderson comes Death Race an action-thriller set in the post-industrial wasteland of tomorrow, with the world's most brutal sporting event as its backdrop. A penitentiary full of felons has inspired the jailers to create a grisly pastime ripe for lucrative kickbacks. Now, adrenalized inmates, a global audience hungry for televised violence and a spectacular arena come together to form the Death Race. Three-time speedway champion Jensen Ames (Statham)...
