Exactly as you'd expect

For anyone who likes the fine way the Brits make these light-hearted stories, then this will be a treat. A single mum sends letters to her son alleging they are from his father so as to keep the boy thinking his father will return some day. Emily Mortimer shines as the boy's mother and the story itself is heart-warming, touching entertainment.
Surprisingly good

This was a really nice film. The little boy was very good at playing a deaf boy. Although the pace was quite slow it moved along well to show you what the story was all about. The only thing I'd complain about is that I thought the end left a lot of unanswered questions but I guess you are just left to wonder what the future held for them.
Absorbing

A quiet film that is still completely absorbing. The actors are brilliant (Gerard Butler in particular) as hope and kindness light up a depressing Glasgow backdrop. I meant to watch a half hour one night and the rest, the next day but had to see it to the end once I started.
A REAL GEM

I had never heard of this film before but I'm glad I took the chance. It's a really lovely story. All the actors are fantastic, especially the boy who plays the part of Frankie. One I'd watch again and again.
Romantic film

Very heart touching film this one could see the reason behind why she kept her Son from the truth, very touching film, and Geard Butler was yet again most enjoyable to watch
