5 out of 10 One of my favourites.
Una from Dublin, 30 Jun 2007
Along the same lines as 13 Conversations About One Thing, but infinitely superior. Newton and Bullock really stand out as strong and terrified women, with the general deterioration of our society made glaringly obvious. Also, strangely, a window into how one person's pain in the butt is the next person's best friend. If you haven't watched it already, what are you waiting for?

4.5 out of 10 Excellent study of race relations
Brian from Mayo, 02 Oct 2007
This won a number of Oscars, and on watching I can see how. The script is excellent, and the performances from the ensemble cast match it. Sandra Bullock and Matt Dillon especially show they are capable of serious dramatic roles. There are a couple of well placed twists, but these add to, rather than subtract from the story. Overall an excellent film.

3 out of 10 Reasonable good
Radu from Clare, 22 Jan 2008
I've seen better movies portraying interracial relationships mainly black vs. white. In an era of politically correctness this movie is considered a masterpiece due to the subject it tackles. Plot is wide and on different levels with no apparent connection. I was glad the movie didn't have a happy ending and ended after 113 minutes.

4.5 out of 10 Absorbing
Ciaran from Dublin, 22 May 2007
Surprisingly won the Oscar which will hopefully drive more people to see this excellent drama. Several stories and characters inter-relate into a whole movie that is absorbing and suffers possibly from being too short. Other than that I have no complaints and this is an excellent drama that should be seen.

2.5 out of 10 Racists are violent, film at 11
Adrian from Dublin, 10 Jan 2012
I think the intended purpose of this film is to demonstrate that racial violence and racial segregation feed each other in a negative feedback cycle that can destroy civilization. The film certainly illustrates it graphically. The lesson I took from it was "don't go to Los Angeles".

What's it about....
They all live in Los Angeles. And in the next 36 hours, they will collide. A car crash brings together many disparate residents of Los Angeles, often finding themselves defined in life along racial boundaries... A breathtaking multi-layered story of interlocked lives, vignettes much in the vein of Robert Altman classics Short Cuts and Nashville, written and directed by the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Million Dollar Baby Paul Haggis.
