3 out of 10 ERIN BROCKOVICH, BUT HEAVIER. BUT LIGHTER.
Brian from Kerry, 31 May 2011
A woman who never finished high school strives to get a law degree in order to save her brother, who's been wrongfully convicted of murder. (Or has he?) The film gets your involvement right enough. Swank gives good devastation. Rockwell, as always, is likeable but doesn't get enough room to be as wacky and inspirational as he normally does. This is based on a true story, but it's also a fairly familiar movie template. Which means 'Conviction' needs to have lots of story. Unfortunately it lacks sufficient complexity, intrigue or character conflict. In short, the unexpected. And it's over in ninety minutes. It's a TV script with a beefed-up cast. It will make you feel. But it's not the experience it could be, in the end.

4.5 out of 10 Heartwarming
Martina from Tipperary, 10 May 2012
Loved this movie, and more for the amazing love between the brother and sister characters, even through a tough childhood. Its really inspiring and moved me for that reason. I think their realtionship is key to the whole movie. And the question is asked during the movie (she asks her own kids) how far would you go to help your siblings?? Great acting. Its hard to believe something like this could happen and I wonder how many innocent people have been locked away down through the years because someone held a grudge.

4.5 out of 10 True Story
Seamus from Monaghan, 13 Mar 2012
As I watched this I kept telling myself that this is a true story. It really happened. I found myself googling the characters to find out where they are now and what happened next. The acting is brilliant and the story is gripping.

4 out of 10 Staggering story
Brock from Limerick, 08 Sep 2011
Well told story, quite awful if you stop to think about the injustice of it all. Leads play their role well, DVD extras also worth checking for a closer insight
