4.5 out of 10 Watch this and you will be depressed
Patrick from Tipperary, 12 Jul 2007
The film's tangled love storyline will leave you feeling pretty worthless, not for lack of been a great film, but rather that there is no real happy ending that some may expect. Owen plays a great shauvinist, the rest of the cast also fall into their roles perfectly, there is definately a jux-to-pose between each members type cast role that works harmogenously in this picture.

Fiona from Galway, 05 Mar 2008
I heard awful things about this movie so had no expectations...it got off to a good start..boy meets girl...love ...etc...good chick flick start...then it moved on very slowly and had a weird end with no real conclusion...didn't leave me feeling any thing really...worth a watch but would never watch it again!!

4 out of 10 Thought provoking
Mark from Dublin, 07 Nov 2007
Thought Clive allen and Natalie Portman stole the show in this totally and relegated Law and Roberts to almost bit parts or was that the intention of the direction thought provoking movie on what selfish lifes some people live and teh impact that there actions have on others

3 out of 10 Closer
Christine from Dublin, 07 Oct 2007
Good film. The concept of the interaction of strangers and the affect that has on their lives was good, but an unconvincing performance by Julia Roberts ruined the flow and its quirky beat. Glad I watched it though.

4.5 out of 10 Beautiful people behaving badly.
Una from Dublin, 30 Jun 2007
Portman is fantastic and really steals the show in this wonderfully entertaining movie that poses the question of how well we ever really know someone. Well worth a watch, solid and touching.

What's it about....
If you believe in love at first sight, you'll never stop looking... Writer Patrick Marber adapted the screenplay from his own scathing stageplay in which a chance meeting between Englishman Dan (Jude Law) and American visitor Alice blossoms into a troubled relationship, bringing together and then affecting a second couple involving Larry (Clive Owen) and Anna (Julia Roberts). Sex and love are explored, capturing all the vulnerability and brutality of people falling in...
