Art House Scum
Tim from Cork, 20 Apr 2007
This is a film that tells main characters (Chopper) story from the point of view of reality, his reality and sometimes a witnesses reality. It's themes are comparable to low budget British films such as Scum or I.D. which also contain mindless violence but, where these films fail Chopper succeeds.
Brilliant acting by Eric Bana, great lighting, directing and editing create a surreal atmosphere and develop the character into a very real person.

I found this very entertaining but yet a tad disturbed (a bit like the main character). Eric Bana plays the lead very convincingly and deserves the plaudits he received. A good example of life on the inside and the resulting outside.

quite a funny movie about Aussie crim who reckons he's a legend in his own lifetime. quite violent. nice recreation of 70s/80s Melbourne with daggy footy stars and various low-life characters

Has its good moments but overall I was a tad disappointed especially as I had heard so many good things about it.
