Boring "dark comedy" about disillusioned and crooked US soldiers in a German military base. Phoenix just seems to sleepwalk through the film. Check out Catch 22 for a proper war satire.

What's it about....

A U. S.soldier with nothing to fight but boredom as the Cold War winds down, Ray Elwood enjoys the rush of trading anything he can get his hands on in West Germany's booming black market... while his inept commander is none the wiser.
