This is quite an old fashioned thriller in many ways. There are no computer effects, just real cars in real chases and they are much better for it. Kurt Russell is great as the man in search of his missing wife and the bad guys are very good too. There are some great car scenes and the movie has the good manners to end in good time.

What's it about....
Jeff Taylor and his wife Amy are headed toward a new life in California when their car's engine dies on a remote highway. Amy accepts a ride from a helpful trucker while Jeff waits with the car. But when Jeff shows up at the agreed rendezvous, he finds his wife's not there. The locals aren't talking; the police aren't much help. With no one to turn to, Jeff battles his worst fears and begins a desperate, danger-ridden search to find Amy--before it's too late
