Angels In America Part 2

3.5 out of 10 Amazing Angels of America
Gary from Dublin, 05 Jul 2007
This drama is an amazing piece of work. Although I was sent this before the first part, I was able to follow this very well. Its about the story of AIDS in the 80s and the effect it has on a group of people. This stars Meryl Streep, Al Pacino and Emma Thompson and is a moving drama of a gay circle of characters and their family and how they all become interlinked by the effect of AIDS. Its a colourful and dark drama in one that should not be missed at all.

4 out of 10 Unexpectedly fab
John from Donegal, 24 Sep 2007
After really enjoying the first installment, I eagerly awaited the second, and wasn't disapointed. The acting is excellent, the special effects scenes are surreal, though I felt Emma Thompson overacted terribly a couple of times, and the ending was well thought out and touching, though if you are of a cynical nature, you may find the ending a bit too much to take. I can understand why this took so many awards.

3 out of 10 not as good as part 1
Andy from Westmeath, 06 Jul 2007
I have to say I was disappointed - mainly with the ending - and it was not nearly as good as part 1. I think it would definitely help to see it in right order - I would have hated to have watched part 2 first. Al Pacino, Mary Louise Parker, Meryl Streep all superb but the script was weak towards the end. A bit contrived.

1 out of 10 Overblown
Emma from Dublin, 10 Apr 2011
I had high hopes for this one, and although I liked some of the writing, I found the whole thing over-long, over-budgeted and overblown. Some of the humour and the Jeffrey Wright character were a saving grace, but in all it went on way too long and was about as subtle as being bashed around the head with a baseball bat.

Have been searching for this series for years and was not disappointed. So different, so thought provoking, such brilliant performances - incredibly gripping throughout
