0.5 out of 10 Steer clear!
Neil from Meath, 10 Oct 2007
This movie tries to take a comical stance on the cynical world of reality TV, ala American Idol/X Factor. Hugh Grant plays Simon Cowel and Denis Quaid plays George Bush. Parody gone farther wrong than the persosn responsibile for titling the movie. Written and directed by Paul Weitz (American Pie and About a Boy) and with a cast of established actors (except Moore!) this movie is so bad that I have to wonder has Weitz developed a crack habit? I kept waiting for a punchline that never came.

2.5 out of 10 A bit of silly fun
Celia from Mayo, 07 Jun 2007
"White Trash" meets "Celebrity Nut"... a good one to watch if you have nothing better to do. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it but it's one of those movies that you see once, it pleases you somewhat, but then forget. It's not bad, but so predictable. At least the end is good.

1.5 out of 10 Disappointing
Tony from Wicklow, 24 Sep 2007
Some good ideas in this but never really comes together and all seemed a bit stinted and disjointed - Grant does a relatively ok impression of Simon Cowell but not enough to save a disappointing movie that starts full of promise but fails to deliver

1.5 out of 10 Disappointed!
Michael from Dublin, 04 Dec 2007
Not sure why Hugh Grant took this role, his usually funny self is not visible in this. Poor movie.

What's it about....
Imagine a country where the President never reads the newspaper, where the government goes to war for all the wrong reasons, and more people vote for a pop idol than their next President... The new season of "American Dreamz," the wildly popular television singing contest, has captured the country's attention, as the competition looks to be between a young Midwestern gal (Moore) and a showtunes-loving young man from Orange County (Golzari). Recently awakened President...
